Successful Mission Trip

This past Wednesday-Saturday (July 26-29) I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Wilmot, Arkansas. Wilmot is a place where there is great need for love, hope, and physical needs. I, along with 7 other families from our church, teamed up with Eagle Family Ministries out of Bentonville, Arkansas and led VBS, sports camps, dance camps, food, clothing, and hygiene distribution, and helped with construction of their community building. Each night we met at a local church for a high energy, spirit-filled worship service. Five teenagers and ten children gave their life to Jesus Christ. I was truly blessed by spending time with the wonderful people of Wilmot. They were so appreciative and kind for our efforts to bring them hope. It was an exciting week for our church as forty people went on mission trips to Wilmot, Gulfport, and Nicaragua. Earlier this summer twenty-five students and adults went to Chicago for an inner city mission trip. If you have never had the opportunity to go on mission for the cause of Christ I highly encourage you to do so. It is rewarding and life-changing. If you have gone on one before I would love to hear where and how it impacted your life.

Mideast Crisis!

With all the new crisis happening in the Mideast we have a new wave of doomsday prophecy circulating religious talk. Is this it? Are we living in the last days? Should we sell all that we own and move to the mountains? Is Christ having Gabriel warm up his trumpet? What should be the Christian's role in all this? Whether you are a pre, mid, or post triber it should heighten your interest. How should we communicate all this turmoil to a non-believing world? I would be greatly interested in hearing from you how we should handle this opportunity that lies before us.

Shane and Shane coming to Siloam Springs, Arkansas

Our church (Harvard Avenue Baptist Church - www.habc.net) here in Siloam Springs, Arkansas is pleased to announce that contemporary recording artist group "Shane and Shane" is coming to town for an open air concert on August 20th at 6:00 p.m. It will be held in an open field just north of our church. The concert is part of an event the church is sponsoring called "SNL" (Sunday Night Live). There will be games for the kids, inflatables for all ages, and the concert. The exciting thing is that there is no charge for the event. Just bring your lawn chairs and blankets. This will be the second time for me to hear them in concert. They are annoited and I'm sure will make a huge impact on Siloam Springs and NWA. Has anyone ever heard these guys? What do you think?
